The Impact of the Dimensions of Community Policing Strategies in the Sense of Social Security
The issue of security and sense of social security is not something mechanical through external pressure. Police external controls without the participation of the population will result in relative security and social participation is essential to sustain a sense of security. Individuals' participation in policing actions will lead to these trends: the social awareness of the policing actions increases; Social trust can be achieved; the integrity of individuals and security forces are crystalized in the structure of the social systems and ultimately leads to the sustainability of sense of social security. The main objective of this study was to determine the impact of the dimensions of community policing strategies in the sense of social security.
This study was conducted in descriptive-survey method using questionnaire. The statistical population of the study included all over 18-year-old individuals living in Tehran. 385 participants were selected using multistage cluster sampling method.
Findings and results:
The results show that there is a significant relationship between individuals' participation in policing actions, trust in police, individuals' integrity with policing system, awareness of policing actions and the increase in the sense of social security.
