The Effectiveness of Leather Embroidery Group Training on Improving Life Satisfaction and Enjoyment of Mothers with Mentally Retarded Children
The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of leather embroidery training on improving the satisfaction and enjoyment of life of mothers with mentally retarded children.
In this quasi-experimental study, pre-test, post-test design was used. The statistical population of the study consisted of all mothers with mentally retarded children referred to Valiasr Rehabilitation Institute in Tehran in 1398. Short form of Quality of Life Satisfaction and Satisfaction Questionnaire (Q -Q-Les-) Indicate et al. (1993) had a low score. Experiments and controls were performed. Leather embroidery training sessions were performed in the experimental group. No action was taken for the control group. One week after the end of the sessions, both experimental and control groups were tested. In order to analyze the data, Analysis of variance test was used.
The findings showed that group training in the art of leather embroidery in the experimental group compared to the control group was effective in improving the satisfaction and enjoyment of life of mothers with mentally retarded children (p <0.05).
Considering the effectiveness of group leather embroidery training on improving the satisfaction and enjoyment of life of mothers with mentally retarded children, it seems that using this intervention can increase the satisfaction and enjoyment of life of mothers with mentally retarded children. Improved.
