Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between organizational silence and performance of police officers in Mazandaran province. The research method was descriptive - correlational according to the nature of the subject. The statistical population in this research is all police officers of Mazandaran province who were selected by simple random sampling method and using Krejcie and Morgan table, 225 people were selected as sample. Zheng's organizational silence (2008) and Paterson's Job Performance Standards Questionnaires were used to collect data. The results showed that there was a significant negative relationship between organizational silence and its dimensions: defensive silence, submissive silence and altruistic silence with staff performance. So that, organizational silence increases, job performance is reduced, and vice versa, the reduction of organizational silence leads to an increase in the employee's job performance.
