Assessment of Potentials of Climate Amenity in South Khorasan Province Utilizing TCI Method
Climate, usually identified through temperature and humidity, determines the time and location of various types of activities. Tourism is practically affected by the climate and the limitations imposed by thermal conditions. The extreme climate stress and tension limits and controls the spatial distribution of tourism locations and also the quantity of the tourists and their inlet and outlet rates. Based on the above facts, the statistics of the South Khorasan Province is studied utilizing the TCI method. In this paper, the climate condition is investigated based on the data gathered from weather stations of the Province. The data analysis results indicate that the climate regime is potentially capable of accommodating large number of tourists. The change in the temperature is not an annoying factor for the visitors. Instead, it provides diversity in climate which is pleasant and agreeable for tourists. The temperature variation is within the tolerable to ideal weather conditions range and have different rates and amplitudes depending on the particular location. This fact challenges the false and old fashioned perceptions of a typical tourist who thinks negatively about the thermal fluctuations. This observation opens up new windows and immense potentials inspiring novel amenities from both a quantitative and qualitative perspectives.
