A survey of relationship between self-esteem and organizational citizenship behavior (A case study of the police command staff in Boshehr)
The present study investigated the relationship between self-esteem and organizational citizenship behavior in a police command staff Demographic information and descriptive correlational study. The study sample included all of the police command in Boshehr is a sample size of 150 person were randomly selected. The instrument used in this study is the self-esteem standard questionnaire kooper Esmet (1976) consists of 58 questions with four subscales, family, educational, social and overall self-esteem and a standard questionnaire organizational citizenship behavior OCB Wiz (2006) consists of 12 items with three component's behavior, civil behavior, attitude and spirit of generosity. For data analysis the Pearson correlation coefficient, regrison multi test, t-test and f-test were used. Results showed a meaningful significant relationship between self-esteem and organizational citizenship behavior there. Between self-esteem and behavior of donors, between self-esteem and civil behavior, there is a relationship between self-esteem and sportsmanship. Between all components as well as self-esteem (family, school, social and overall self-esteem) are significantly associated with organizational citizenship behavior OCB. In addition, demographic characteristics including gender, education and work experience staff did not impact the research results.
