The Elimination of Causality Means the Elimination of Reason

This paper aims at scrutinizing Ibn Rrushd’s views on the causality. Ibn Rushd is of the view that denial of causality due to its allegedly inconsistency with reason and distorting the logic of perception and knowledge is irrational, and the division of efficient cause, into bil taba and bil eradah is an inexact division and the classification of causes into natural and divine is inappropriate. The author, points out a number of evidents revealing the fact that effects are needy to cause. He assesses the unity rule in Ibn Rrushd’s view as a superstition. The author concludes that Ibn Rrushd’s delicate and deep thoughts makes of him rather a philosopher than a commentator.
