The Philosophy and Philosopher in the Old Testament

A frequently used and often positively approached term in the Old Testament is the word “wisdom”. A number of the Old Testament books are titled “The Books of Wisdom”. In these set, there are some traces of Greece’s theoretical wisdom (hikmah) but what is prominent there is the practical wisdom. The meaning of wisdom and wise hikmah wa Hakim, their application and the place of theoretical and practical wisdom in these books and whether they are applied in a consistent manner are the subjects that this essay deals with.
