Non-Governmental Organizations and Socio-Cultural Empowerment of Tehran Youth in Sustainable Social Development

NGOs affect many things, especially the empowerment of society at any time and place and under different conditions, and attention to their role and position can be considered important in the development and progress of any society.Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of identifying and determining the position of NGOs in socio-cultural empowerment of youth in Tehran.The present research has been done by grounded theory method. At first, the data were gathered through the semi-structured open interview, and the categories and concepts of the research were identified through open, axial and selective coding, and then a questionnaire was designed based on the concepts and categories and performed on 400 people as a sample. Then the obtained data were analyzed by the Kiers-Mir - Oaklyn test and the results showed that the concept of the role of NGOs has three indicators of education and skills acquisition, material and spiritual support and prevention of social harm has two inductors of education and skill; concept of the social empowerment has two indicators of academic and skill empowerment; and empowerment of behaviors and social interactions and the concept of cultural empowerment has two indicators of internal and external empowerment.
