A Model for Commanders' Communication Skills in Effective Interaction with Duty Soldiers
Communication is the basis of all walks of life, including educational activities, and therefore there is a complex interrelationship between communication and education. There is no doubt that commanders' communication skills can play a significant role in improving training. The purpose of this study is to design a model of communication skills of commanders of NAJA military training centers.
This research is applied in terms of purpose and qualitative in terms of implementation method. The statistical population of the study consists of line commanders and managers of NAJA public training centers and soldiers of these centers. Sampling was performed by snowball method and purposefully and a sample of 17 people were interviewed through semi-structured interviews. With this number of interviews, theoretical saturation was achieved. The data were designed using the theme analysis technique, review and research model. The reliability of the research was confirmed by the method of intra-subject agreement (83.25% agreement) and the validity of the research is defensible at all stages.
The study showed that the communication skills model of line commanders includes 12 capabilities. These qualities include: respecting and honoring people, taking care of appearance and discipline, personality, having experience, having expertise, emotional intelligence, taking time, observing justice, support, appreciation, understanding individual differences, and finally, considering circumstances. Any situation.
Commanders' abilities, in four dimensions of attitude, traits, behaviors and requirements, form the model of communication skills of commanders in the ranks of NAJA general training centers. Therefore, with special attention to these capabilities, in selecting commanders and also, paying attention to the development of these capabilities in their training, their interaction with soldiers can be significantly improved. As a result, more effective training is provided.
