A Study of the Functionality of rational life in the Evolution of History from the Perspective of Allameh Mohammad Taghi Jafari
The “theoretical philosophy of history” considers the human past as a unit thing then theorizes about movement, the cause of movement, purpose, path and stages of its movement. Some theoretical philosophers of history believe that the movement of history is progressing and evolving, while some others believe otherwise. Allameh Mohammad Taghi Jafari, one of the Muslim philosophers familiar with Islamic and Western philosophy, while discussing the central issue of rational life, believes that human beings have progressed scientifically and technologically, but from a moral point of view, they are not on the path of evolution; Hence, scientific and technological advances have been at the service of corruption on earth. According to religious teachings, he believes that in the human world, after the advent of the promised Mahdi (AJ), material progress, spiritual and moral development will occur together. This article criticizes this theory by explaining it with the keyword of reasonable life. The research findings show that although this theory has succeeded in explaining the coherent theoretical philosophy based on religious sources and has scientific validity, but in part of the theory, it is ambiguous and suffers from insufficient arguments to prove its view.
