Abstract:
Since the people of dissension incite fitnah in different ways in society every day and try to mislead the people, it is very important to study and identify the causes and contexts of fitnah from different angles. In this study, using descriptive-analytical method, the roots of fitnah in Islamic government have been investigated. The results of the research show that fitnah is also defined in its Qur'anic application to infidelity, polytheism, and hypocrisy. The roots of fitnah are in some cases internal, which is due to following the desires of the soul. Studies show that wherever there is fitnah, the desires of the soul are involved, and wherever the desires prevail, fitnah occurs. Some of the roots of fitnah are external, such as the devil, Taghout, and the infiltrators of the enemy. Among the external factors, the infiltrators of the enemy have a very destructive role in inciting fitnah in the Islamic society, sometimes these infiltrators reach the most sensitive places and key positions and cause irreparable damage.
