The Effectiveness of Couples Enrichment Educational Package based on Emotionally Focused Approach (EFT) on Controlling Behaviors in Women and Men Facing Wife Infidelity
The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of Couples Enrichment Educational Package based on Emotionally Focused Approach (EFT) on Controlling Behaviors in Women and Men Facing Wife Infidelity. The research method was quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with control group and follow-up group. The statistical population of this study was all men and women faced with infidelity in Tehran in 2010-2011. By available sampling method, 40 people were selected and randomly assigned to an intervention group by training method of enriching couples relationships with a focus-based approach. Excitement and a control group were divided. Data were collected based on a questionnaire of controlling behaviors (Graham Cowan and Archer, 2005) and multivariate analysis of covariance was used to remove the effect of pretest using SPSS software. The results showed that emotion-focused training method had an effect on the scores of controlling behaviors in men and women faced with adultery. The results also showed that the training method of enriching couples' relationships with an emotion-focused approach in the follow-up phase was sustainable. Therefore, based on the research findings, it can be said that the training method of enriching couples relationships focused on emotion-oriented approach is an effective model in men and women affected by spousal infidelity and can be used as one of the treatment or educational methods in couple therapy programs.
