Study of the effect of the dimensions of police interaction with public institutions on forms of crime prevention
Background and Purpose:
The need to fight and prevent crime provides the conditions for us to make more use of existing social capacities with a crime prevention approach. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of police dimensions with public institutions in crime prevention.
This descriptive study was conducted by quota sampling and sample size of 278 people in Mazandaran province and in Tonekabon, Amol and Sari cities. The tool for measuring variables is a questionnaire taken from various researches. For data analysis, SPSS and Amos software were performed.
The results of the study indicate that the correlation between public institutions and the police in crime prevention is 0.567 which indicates a high correlation and 0.31 of the crime prevention changes are determined by different dimensions of public institutions' interaction with the police. According to the research results, negotiation has the greatest impact on social prevention and the status of crime, and the Advisory Committee has the greatest impact on disciplinary prevention.The results of the above table show that the correlation coefficient of interaction and prevention dimensions is 0.567. Also, according to the coefficient of determination R2, it is clear that interaction indicators predict a total of 0.32% of crime prevention changes. Therefore, according to the results of the present study, it can be said that the interaction of public institutions with the police in preventing crimes is positive and significant.
