Illustration of Future University and to Introduce a Superior Model for Higher Education

The aim of the present survey is to illustrate the future university and introducing a superior model for higher education in order to create a desirable future in the long-term horizon.

Through semi-structured interviews with 24 experts, sampling, snowballing and data analysis were performed by theme analysis technique, key factors of higher education. The validity of the interview was assessed by Guba and Lincoln criteria, and reliability was calculated by retest method. Validation of key factors was performed through CVR. Using Peter Schwartz model and based on the ranking of key factors based on importance and uncertainty, finally two key factors were identified and scenarios were developed based on them.

Two factors, "design and application of effective management methods and strategies" and "the degree of government intervention and parallel institutions " in terms of importance and uncertainty, obtained a higher ranking based on They were formulated on the basis of a matrix of narratives of four scenarios: intellectual, innovative, Retrogressive, and broken.

Intellectual Scenario as a desirable can lead to the advancement of higher education, the innovative higher education scenario to some extent and the two scenarios of Retrogressive and broken higher education to a large extent; they can challenge the higher education system.
