Abstract:
The purpose of the present study is to review and recognize the interrelation between Rij’at (return), reincarnation, and resurrection. The method of study is descriptive analysis and the results showed that Rij’at (return), reincarnation, and resurrection are some commonly used terms among commentators, theologians, and Islamic philosophers. Kalāmī (theological) issues have always been controversial and disputed arguments for the thinkers of other intellectual doctrines and there have been basic disagreements over these discussions. Rij’at (return) is acceptable in the view of scholars of the Qur’ān’s exegesis because it is a Qur’ānic truth and also the return of some men with special conditions at the time of Imam Mahdi (s)’s reappearance is confirmed by Shi’ite scholars. Rij’at speaks about the return of soul to body after their separation, while reincarnation means transmigration of soul from one body to another in order to bear punishment or receive prize for the past acts and to reach perfection in this world, and this is not acceptable due to some reasons.
