The Effectiveness of Based on Acceptance and Commitment Treatment on Difficulty in Cognitive Regulation and Rumination in Women with Social Anxiety
Social anxiety is one of the most common chronic diseases and many psychological factors are involved in the onset and severity of the disease. The purpose of this study was to the effectiveness of based on acceptance and commitment treatment on difficulty in cognitive regulation and rumination in women with social anxiety. This quasi-experimental study was conducted with a pre-test, post-test and follow-up design with control group. The statistical population of this study included all asthmatic individuals who referred to Bojnourd city consultation centers in year 2019, using a purposive sampling method, 30 of them were selected and randomly assigned to experimental group and control group. To collect data Social Anxiety (Connor, Davidson et al, 2000), Difficulty in Cognitive Regulation (Garnefski & Kraaij, 2006) and Rumination (Nolen Hoeksema & Morrow et al, 1991) Questionnaires were used. The experimental group underwent based on acceptance and commitment treatment but the control group received no treatments. Data were analysed using covariance analysis. The results showed that based on acceptance and commitment treatment was effective to decrease difficulty in cognitive regulation and rumination in women with social anxiety (p>0/001). According to the results, this treatment can be used to decrease difficulty in cognitive regulation and rumination in women with social anxiety .
