Comparison of Occupational-Social Interactions, Professional Knowledge and its Application in Educational Consultants
Since job success is one of the important factors in a person’s career, it is necessary to check its role and extent in educational consultants. Therefore, the aim of the current study was to identify and compare the components of career success in educational consultants. The present research method is a descriptive survey type. The statistical population of this research included all the successful educational consultants of Tehran province in 1997-1998. The sample size included 131 people from this community, who were selected by stratified random sampling. To measure the career success of consultants, a questionnaire developed by Haghshenas (2017) was used. Data analysis was done in SPSS software version (26) using multivariate analysis of variance test. The F score related to the components of having professional knowledge (P>0.05, 5.49 = (129 and F)) and the components of applying professional knowledge (P < 0.01, 15.61 = 129 and 1) F) and office activity (P> 0.01, 7.79 = (129 and 1) F) is significant. The use of post-hoc Ben-Ferroni test showed that female consultants obtained higher scores compared to male consultants in all three components of having professional knowledge, application of professional knowledge and office activity. However, there was no significant difference between male and female counselors in the components of social-occupational interaction and ability development. By paying attention to the components of career success, the career success of female and male school counselors can be improved. This increases the scope of using counseling services in schools.
