Investigating the effect of participatory learning on the competence and academic burnout of first grade high school students in Aliabad Katoul
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of participatory learning on the competence and academic burnout of high school students in Aliabad Katoul. The method of the present study is quasi-experimental. The design used in this research is a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the present study includes all first grade high school students in Aliabad Katoul. Among these students, 40 eighth grade students were selected by available sampling in two groups of 20 experimental and control. The measurement tools in this study are Jigsaw method of participatory learning training package, Deperna and Elliott (1999) academic competency questionnaire and Bruce et al. (2009) academic burnout questionnaire. The obtained data were analyzed using univariate analysis of covariance with SPSS 20 software. The results indicate that participatory learning has an effect on increasing the competency and reducing academic burnout of high school students in Aliabad Katoul.
