The effectiveness of emotional regulation training on sexual deviance, social anxiety and self-control of pornography site users
The present study examined the effectiveness of emotional regulation on sexual deviance, social anxiety and self-control of users of pornography sites. This research was practical in terms of purpose and semi-experimental in terms of method, in which a pre-test-post-test design was used with a control group. The current research population included teenagers who are active users of internet social networks living in the city of Abadan who had referred to counseling centers. A sample of 20 boys between the ages of 14 and 18, who spend more than 3 hours a day on virtual networks, was selected from this community for addiction to virtual networks. People in both groups have no history of regular cognitive and emotional skills training, which were voluntarily and randomly divided into control and experimental groups. The research tools included paraphilia scale (Kurt Freud, 1968), social anxiety scale for teenagers SAS-A Lajersa (1998) and Tanji self-control questionnaire (2004) 2014) was used. The findings showed that emotional regulation training in sexual deviance (P < 0.01, F = 73.205), self-control (P < 0.01, F = 26.07) and social anxiety (P < 0.01, F=62/42) has been effective. This means that emotional regulation training has reduced sexual deviance and social anxiety and increased self-control.
