A Survey on the Science of Inheritance in the Islamic Period

The content of a science called science of inheritance formed Islamic period was the process of dividing an inheritance into heirs. Due to its importance in encouraging hadiths about it, this science was vastly included in monographs and comprehensive jurisprudence books. This science primarily presents the religious rules related to the subject; However, some calculation was inevitable for applying these rules. In this article, we study the position of this science during the Islamic period. The study of the encyclopedic books shows that this science is considered a branch of Islamic jurisprudence, a branch of arithmetic, an interdisciplinary branch, or even an independent science.
