Comparison of the effectiveness of two approaches based on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and reality therapy on the meaning of life of female supervisors under the auspices of the Relief Committee
The meaning of life in women supervisors under the auspices of the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation is important due to their special circumstances .The purpose of the present study was to compare the effectiveness of two approaches based on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and reality therapy based 0n the life of female-headed households under the auspices of the Relief Committee.
The designof the present studywas quasi-experimental with pre-test-post-test-follow-up and control group. The statistical population of the study was 153 women heads of households of Shabestareh city relief committee, out of which 30 people who had low scores in the meaning of Estger life test were selected by available sampling method and randomly divided into two experimental groups (based on admission and commitment therapy and reality therapy group). Mixed analysis of variance was performed to analyze the data .
According to the results obtained the approach based on acceptance and commitment therapy and reality therapy significantly increases the meaning of women's lives (P≤0.01). Also the comparison of the effectiveness of the two groups showed that there is no significant difference between the effectiveness of ACT therapy and reality therapy in terms of life of female-headed households. The results emphasize the importance and application of ACT therapeutic approach andreality therapy on the meaning of life and there is no significant difference between the effectiveness of the two approaches (P = 0.29).
