Predicting the quality of life of the elderly based on mindfulness with the mediation of death anxiety

This research was conducted with the aim of predicting the quality of life of the elderly based on mindfulness with the mediation of death anxiety. The descriptive research method was correlation type. The statistical population of the present study included all the elderly in District 4 of Tehran city in 2019, of which 371 elderly people were selected using the available sampling method. completed TDAS, Templer, 21970) and quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF, World Health Organization, 1996). Data analysis using the structural equation modeling method showed that mindfulness has a positive and significant relationship with quality of life (p<0.01) and death anxiety has a significant negative relationship with quality of life (p<0.01) and mindfulness with Quality of life through death anxiety had an indirect and significant relationship (p<0.01). The results of this research showed that mindfulness explains the quality of life through the mediation of death anxiety and that the model had a good fit. The findings of this research can be used by specialists in mental health fields to improve the quality of life of the elderly.
