The Analysis of Enigma in Kurdish (Sorani) Dialect

Abstract:

The subject of the present study is to analyze the riddle in Sorani Kurdish. The objectives of the study are to provide the young generation with a better understanding of the popular culture, prevent the new generation from becoming more disconnected from their native culture, recognize the effects of oral literature, especially riddle and its role in today's scientific studies and understand Kurdish riddle and its structure and content. The data were collected by library method and analyzed by content analysis method. The statistical population of the study is 377 Kurdish enigmas which have been investigated by total inductive method. The source used is the book (Kurdish enigma) by Obaidullah Ayubian Markazi. The reason for choosing this work is that the author is an academic figure, has a scientific view in compiling the content, his point of view, and the dominant Kurdish popular culture. The results indicate that Kurdish enigma have certain features, some of which are common to Persian enigma, but some features are also specific to the Kurdish language, which leads to a better understanding of these enigma.
