The Effectiveness of Resilience Training on Improving Coping Styles in Addicts Using Medical Methadone in Shahrekord Addiction Treatment Centers
Nowadays, substance dependency is one of the most important public health problems in societies. Many people suffer from substance use disorders throughout their lives and many die each year due to its direct and indirect consequences. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of resiliency training on improving coping styles in addicts using methadone in Shahrekord addiction treatment centers.
It is an applied research, and in terms of methodology and method of data collection is a descriptive survey and based on research approach is a quantitative type. The statistical population of this study consisted of all addicts referring to Shahrekord addiction treatment centers in the first trimester of year 2019 who were selected by convenience sampling method. After screening, 30 people were randomly selected and randomly divided into experimental and control groups. The Lazarus (1980) Coping Styles Questionnaire was administered to both groups and then the experimental group underwent group resuscitation training. The number of sessions for the treatment of these patients was adjusted to 12 sessions of 60 minutes and after the end of the training period, both experimental and control groups completed the research questionnaires again. Finally, the collected data were analyzed by SPSS software using one-way covariance test in Mancova text.
The results of the data analysis showed that resiliency group training confirmed the improvement of coping style of confrontational coping, avoidance, responsibility of coping styles variable at the level of 0.05 error.
The findings of this study indicated that resiliency training can be used as a factor in increasing coping styles in addicts.
