Abstract:

Applying individual tastes and temperaments while performing religious rites often bring about some tensions. This holds true in the case of applying unpleasant designations to oneself when comparing oneself to any of the Ahl al-Bayt. This practice is frowned upon in the hadith, hence strictly prohibited.
