A qualitative study of adolescents 'adjustment to mothers' remarriage

Single women as a result of divorce or the death of their husbands are in a twilight or ambiguity region in Eastern cultures, so that they are not condemned as much as other respected women such as divorce and do not have the right to a normal life like other women. Now, if this group of women is in a situation of remarriage, they will experience more serious challenges, and these challenges will be more serious when the children are also in the process of remarriage. In this study, the qualitative study of adolescents' compatibility with remarriage of mothers in Ahvaz was studied.

This research was conducted using a qualitative method with schematic analysis and theoretical sampling. The statistical population of this study was all adolescents with remarried mothers, of whom 10 adolescents were interviewed. The seven-step method and the MAXQDA software version 2020 were used to analyze the interview data.

The results of the analysis of the 187 primary codes were the seven main themes of psychological well-being, emotional support, emotional experiences, attitude to marriage, economic well-being, interpersonal relationships and acceptance of divorce, and eighteen sub-themes on compatibility with parent remarriage.

The reasons for incompatibility with maternal marriage in adolescents are in a wide range of psychological, social, personal, social, etc. factors that should be considered and considered in prevention programs.
