Comparison of the Satisfaction and Effect of Using the Logbook and Traditional Laboratory Worksheet in Teaching and Evaluating of Bacteriology Courses in Zanjan University of Medical Sciences
Laboratory courses have a special importance in developing of medical students' Practical skills. The aim of this study was to comparison of logbook and traditional Laboratory worksheet in teaching and evaluating of Bacteriology courses in accoedance with the educational objectives.
The students were divided into control and experimental groups. The logbook for practical courses in bacteriology was designed according to the lesson plan and course plan. Then, the students of the intervention group were evaluated by completing the logbook. Students' satisfaction and learning at the end of the semester in the two groups were compared using independent t-test.
Bacteriology course scores were no statistically significant difference between the control and experimental groups (P = 0.137). Satisfactory level in all areas was high to very high.
According to the analysis of the results of the satisfaction questionnaire, The use of the laboratory log book, causes clarification of educational objectives, classified information, encouraging students to search for scientific materials related to subjects, increasing active learning, and more interaction between students and teacher.
