The Impact of Sustainable Development of Makran Coasts on the sea Power of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Use of the blessings of the sea and suitable Coasts, plays an important role in economic development and promoting the political and defense position of a country in the international system and from a military and commercial point of view also plays a very important role in national power and ability of countries to achieve opportunities. Accordingly, there is a need for a new approach to the sustainable development of the sea-based Makran coast. Sustainable development means providing solutions for social, economic and environmental development that can prevent the emergence of issues such as the destruction of natural resources, destruction of biological systems, improper harvesting of marine living resources, injustice and declining quality of life of coastal residents now and in the future. Achieving sea power and sovereignty can help the country maintain and secure its borders, as well as increase its economic and political power. Therefore, in order to protect the interests and defend the waters and maritime borders of the country, having a sea power requires a powerful navy, efficient merchant fleet, maritime industry and advanced maritime schools on the shores of Makran. The purpose of this study is to explain the effect of sustainable development of Makran Coasts on the components of sea power of the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to the analysis, economic, social and environmental developments have a positive and significant effect on the components of sea power (merchant fleet, military fleet and schools and maritime industries). It was also found that economic development has the highest correlation with the marine science industry, social development has the highest correlation with the commercial fleet and environmental development has the highest correlation with the commercial fleet.
