Abstract:
The information on the marriage of Khadīja al-Kubra (PBUH) and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has been reflected in historical sources in different forms and heterogeneous ways. The content and thematic diversity of the narratives in the form of myth-making, story-telling, and highlighting some of the propositions of this event are evident in the historical reports related to the subject, which can affect and distort the audience's view. Due to its importance, this article aims to reevaluate the reports in Tarikh al-Tabari by the method of foundation theory - which reduces the possibility of the involvement of subjective assumptions in understanding the content of the text. Tarikh al-Tabari is the source of this research due to its comprehensive attitude of recording different narrations as a well-known source. This survey determines the dominant criterion in Tarikh al-Tabari's report on the marriage of Khadīja al-Kubra (PBUH) and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which is their moral and personality characteristics.
