The mediation role of eating styles in relationship between depression, anxiety, stress and impulsion with obese individuals eating disorders
The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between depression, anxiety, stress and impulsivity with eating disorders in obese people mediated by light eating.
The method of this study was correlational. The statistical population included all those who had a BMI above normal and referred to diet or nutrition centers in Tonekabon. Were selected as a research sample. The research instruments were the DUCH eating behavior questionnaire, the eat attitudes questionnaire, the Barrat impulsivity scale, and the DASS-21 Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale. Statistical data were analyzed using structural equation method with PLS.
Findings showed that there is a significant relationship between depression, anxiety, stress and impulsivity with eating disorders in obese people mediated by light eating. Also the variables of depression, anxiety, stress and impulsivity had a direct and significant relationship with eating disorders.
The results showed that the higher the psychological components in a person, the higher the rate of eating disorders in her and due to the importance of mental issues in physical health, it is necessary to teach coping skills with these psychological components.
