The Role of Mental Toughness and Spiritual Adaptability in predicting Psychological Health in students
psychological health of students is one of the axes of evaluating the health of different societies, which plays an important role in ensuring the dynamism and efficiency of each society. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the role of mental toughness and spiritual adaptation in predicting the psychological health of students.
The current research was descriptive-correlational. The research population included all postgraduate students of the Islamic Azad University of Birjand in the first semester of 2022-2023, of which 170 people were selected based on Gujersi and Morgan's table using available sampling method. The data collection tools included mental toughness questionnaires by Clough et al. (2002), spiritual adjustment by Rasouli et al. (2008) and psychological health subscale of the World Health Organization (2000). Data analysis was done with Pearson correlation test and multiple regressions with the help of SPSS version 24 software.
The results showed that there is a direct relationship between mental toughness (r=0.677) and spiritual compatibility (r=0.580) with psychological health (p<0.01). Also, the components of mental toughness explain 47.3% and the components of spiritual compatibility explain 35.3% of the variance of psychological health.
Based on the results of improving mental strength and spiritual adaptability, it has an effective role in improving the psychological health of students.
