History of political developments Representation of addicted women in the cinema of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Case study of razor blade, blood play and woodpecker films)
Cinema and its productions are a representation of the state of society. One of the approaches of cinema to construct meaning in the minds of the audience is to use representation, which means a kind of manipulated image of external reality and is done by using marking, encoding and decoding. Addiction is one of the most important social ills that must be analyzed from various aspects, including cinema. The main question was how addicted women are represented in Iranian cinema, and with the hypothesis that addicted women in Iranian cinema have faced changes in the number and methods of consumption and the type of consumption, three films in three different historical periods of Iranian cinema Some of the represented characteristics for addicted women were examined and then a comparison was made between these three time periods. In this study, razor blade, blood play and woodpecker films from the films of the 60s, 80s and 90s were examined and the represented features for addicted women were extracted. The aim of this study was to identify the characteristics represented for addicted women and to analyze the content of the films using discourse analysis method. Addicted women in the reviewed films with various characteristics such as impotence, despair, aggression, dependence, lack of patience, lack of hijab and. . . Were represented. The representation of addicted women has undergone changes in recent years, such as changes in consumption from traditional to industrial, increasing the number of addicted women and showing patterns of consumption.
