Abstract:
Despite being a jurisprudential issue, the construction of buildings (tombs) on graves has always been a reason for slandering the Imams (AS) and excommunicating Muslims when the issue finds a creedal character. This article aims to clarify the theory of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) to repel slander and prevent Muslims from being accused of due to this issue. Given that the research is based on tracing, extrapolating different cases of the issue, and deducing the rulings of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) for each case, the researcher follows an inferential-deductive approach together with description and analysis. Construction of buildings on graves is a kind of cultural struggle against the manifestations of polytheism, deviation, and violating the sanctities of religion. Given the constructive role of building tombs for graves- whether expressed or not- Ahl al-Bayt (AS) provide their traditions in accordance with these cases. Therefore, building tombs on graves is sometimes desirable and sometimes even obligatory. However, if constructions on graves are in the support of falsehood, even Ahl al-Bayt (AS) will find them reprehensible.
