The Effectiveness of Using the Simulation Method on Students' Creativity and Academic Performance

The present study was conducted in order to investigate the effectiveness of the simulation method on the creativity and performance of elementary school students. The research method is quasi quasiexperimental design with pre-test and post-test design .The statistical population of the study was made up of girl elementary school in Khodabande city in the academic year of 1401-1402. 30 people were selected by multiple-stage cluster sampling method and were randomly placed in the experimental and control groups. In this research, the science lessons were taught to the experimental group for 8 weeks (two 50-minute training sessions per week) using the simulation method. The control group (control) also received their science lessons in the traditional teaching method without any intervention. To implement both teaching methods, the same teacher was used in both control and experimental groups. To measure students' creativity based on Torrance's point of view, Abedi's 60-question creativity test (1372) was used, and to measure students' academic performance, Pham and Taylor's academic performance questionnaire (EPT) was used. The results showed that the simulation method promotes creativity and improves the academic performance of elementary school students.
