Abstract:

The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of teaching social values on the formation of national identity of adolescents. The method of this study was a quasi-experimental study. The statistical population of the study included all female students in Tehran in 2016. The sample size was 100 people and then 30 people whose scores from the National Attitude Questionnaire were one standard deviation below the average were selected and randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups (30 people in each group). The research measurement tool was a 14-item national identity questionnaire (Ahadi et al., 2006). Then the experimental group received social values training in 8 sessions of 90 minutes, while the control group did not receive any training. The results showed that post-test analysis of covariance of national identity scores after pre-test adjustment, shows that by eliminating the effect of pre-test scores, the effect of independent variable on post-test scores is significant (P <0.001, 27 and df = 1, 56 / 107F =).
