The Path Analysis of Relation of Implicit Beliefs of Intelligence with Procrastination: Mediating Achievement Goals
Procrastination in academic community is more common, and can lead to stress and mental illness. Experimental and theoretical foundations of procrastination are less than another psychological construct. With respect to importance of this subject the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between implicit beliefs of intelligence and procrastination with mediating achievement goals in students of Islamic Azad University, Dezful branch. The method is based on the table of Morgan sample size, 375 students were selected as a sample size and completed the Procrastination Scale (Lay, 1986); Implicit Theories of Intelligence Scale (Abd-El-Fattah & Yates, 2006); and Achievement Goal Scale (Elliot & McGregor, 2001). Path analysis with AMOS software was used to analyze the data. The results showed that there was a negative relationship between incremental intelligence beliefs and procrastination through mastery goals. Model indexes indicated that the proposed concept model was efficient.
