Analysis of Effective Social Factors in Women's Tendency to Join Sports Teams and Participate in Competitions
Physical culture and the direction of health and activities such as running slowly, walking, cycling in the field of recreational activities, and participating in sports championships should be institutionalized as a cultural strategy among all segments of society especially women. The overall purpose of the present study was to analyze the social factors affecting the tendency of girls to join sports teams and participate in the tournament. The research is descriptive-analytic. The statistical population of all female students participating in the 14th Olympiad of Sport (3745) was held in Shiraz University in the summer of 1997. A sample of 375 students was randomly selected from among all sports. The research instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire whose validity was verified by 14 sports management professors at universities and its reliability was obtained through Cronbach's alpha of 0.92. The results showed that the four components of the cultural-religious attitude of the society, the support of the family, as well as the development of new information technology and senior executives' policies are highly effective in the tendency of girls to participate in sports teams and participate in contests. Therefore, promoting the cultural level of the society (mainly families to support) and reforming the views of community leaders towards women's sports in accordance with the time conditions, as well as the development of new communication and information technologies, provides the basis for more women to join sports teams and participate in the tournaments.
