The Relationship between Life Satisfaction and Bullying Behaviors with Nursing Students in Clinical Settings by Spiritual Health Mediator: Structural Equation Modeling
One of the issues that nursing students face in clinical environments is bullying behaviors. The bullying behaviors can have unpleasant consequences on life satisfaction. On the other hand, the spiritual health can be effective by reducing bullying behaviors and improving the quality of life. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between life satisfactions and bullying behaviors with nursing students in clinical environments with the mediation of spiritual health.
Methods and Materials:
This research is a correlational study. One handered eight nursing students were studied. The questionnaires were completed consist of demographic information form, bullying behaviors in nursing students tool; satisfaction with life, and spiritual health. Data were analysied by SPSS 26 and AMOS 24 software for structural equation modeling and the Sobel test to check the effect.
A positive and significant relationship (P<0.01) was observed between life satisfaction and spiritual health. Also, a negative and significant relationship (P<0.01) was observed between the variables of life satisfaction and spiritual health with bullying behaviors of nursing students in clinical settings. The variables of satisfaction with life and spiritual health predicted 46% of the variance of bullying behaviors with nursing students in clinical settings.
Nursing students are often bullied in the internship environment. Therefore considering that spiritual health mediated the relationship between life satisfactions and bullying behaviors with nursing students in clinical settings, improving spiritual health can have effects on reducing the experience of bullying behaviors and increasing life satisfaction.
