Relationship between Emotion Regulation Strategies with Happiness in Boy Students
The objective of the present study was to examine Relationship between emotion regulation strategies with happiness in boy students. The method of the study was descriptive- analytic type of correlation and the statistical population included all student of Miyandoab city high school during 1391- 1392 (2012- 2013). The statically sample of the research included 200 boy student; who were selected through multistage cluster sampling, and answered Gross & John Emotion Regulation Strategies Scale (with 0.57 reliability) and Joseph and et al Short Depression-Happiness Scale (with 0.69 reliability). The data collected from the sample were analyzed using the statistical methods of correlation and regression. The results revealed that suppression strategy negatively correlated with happiness (r = -0/23). Also, suppression strategy negatively and significantly (p< .001, R2 = 0/054) predicted the changes related to happiness. This study indicated that from two strategies of reappraisal and suppression, suppression strategy can predict changes of happiness in students.
