Family Function and the Role of Religious Teachings on Social Security
Since the family is the foundation of all social institutions, it is the most effective center for organizing the social disorders and also it is the most important factor for shaping the society. It has several functions that one of them is religious function which has a significant role in threatening or providing the social security. This article reviews the functions of the family and discusses about the role of religious teachings in social security. The research method is library and documentary. The study shows that adherence to religious teachings is a significant obstacle to the social problems and moral deviation. Religious beliefs directly control the personal behavior and decrease the abnormal behaviors indirectly through developing the self-esteem, improving the relationships among the family members, and increasing parental supervision. Discussion and Conclusion The results indicated that the interference of religion in decisions and choices affects in family functioning more than other aspects of Religion. Religion is one of the most important value systems of every society that needs to be reproduced in subsequent generations for its own strengthening. A variety of factors can influence this process, in the meantime, socialization is an important one and among the elements of socialization, family is very important.
