The effects of social, cultural, familial and communicative factors on syntactic and lexical variations of Hawrami (Paveh dialect) based on Variationist Sociolinguistics

Abstract:
In this study, linguistic variations of Hawrami (Paveh dialect) based on diversity-oriented sociolinguistics are studied. Following the literature review, four components including cultural, social, familial, and communicative factors recognized as effective variables on Linguistic and syntactic variations, and a questionnaire was prepared and delivered among the speakers. Data gathered from these questionnaires were analyzed by Structural Equation Model. The results of this model indicated that these components play a meaningful role in producing effective factors on Linguistic and syntactic variations. Finally, for ranking effective components on Linguistic and syntactic variations, Friedman test was conducted. The results of this test indicated that social factors by average 3.37, familial factors by average3.16 and communicative factors by average 2.46, respectively are the most important factors that play a role in Linguistic and syntactic variations.
