To analyze the data, Baron and Kenny's four-step method was applied. In the end, the research findings showed the following results a) there is a significant positive relationship between the predictor variable (optimism) and the criterion variable (family efficacy); b) there is a significant positive relationship between the mediator variable (self-control) and the predictor variable (optimism); c) there is a significant positive relationship between the criterion variable (family efficacy) and the mediating variable (self-control); and finally, e) the self-control variable completely plays a mediating role in the relationship between the two variables of optimism and family efficacy.
