An overview of the economic impacts of the tourism industry

The tourism industry as one of the service industries is very important in the economy of countries. Like any other phenomenon, tourism also has effects on societies. Economic impacts are one of the most important impacts of tourism that can have both positive and negative impacts on destinations and host communities. Therefore, examining the economic impacts of the tourism industry is of great importance. Based on this, the purpose of this research was to review the positive and negative economic impacts of the tourism industry. The current research was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of the nature of the method. The method of data collection in this research was library-document type. The research results showed that the tourism industry in a region can have positive and negative economic impacts at the same time. So that parallel to every positive economic impact in a region, negative economic impacts can also be seen and it is necessary to act in such a way that positive impacts are strengthened and negative impacts are prevented as much as possible.
