An Overview of the Relationship Between Patients' Spiritual Health and Death Anxiety with an Emphasis on Covid-19
Death anxiety can affect human mental health. Paying attention to spiritual health is considered as one of the most important actions of health care providers. The aim of this study was to review the relationship between spiritual health and death anxiety in patients with an emphasis on covid-19. Material and methos: This article is an overview article that was conducted through searching Elsevier, PubMed Google Scholar databases and published library resources using the keywords spiritual health, death anxiety and covid19 between 2005-2023. A total of 42 articles were retrieved and analyzed, and finally 24 articles were in line with the purpose of the study.
According to the studies, death anxiety affects mental health and causes feelings such as hopelessness, worthlessness, loss of the true meaning of life, lifestyle change, and disorder in the healing process. Considering the importance of spiritual health in reducing death anxiety, it is suggested that nurses, in addition to common treatments, pay more attention to strengthening patients' spiritual health and performing spiritual care. :
