The Effect of Metacognitive Beliefs and Psychological Coherence on Depression in Cardiovascular Patients
The purpose of this research is to determine theimpact of metacognitive beliefs and psychologicalcoherence on depression in cardiovascular patients.
The statistical population ofthis research includes all cardiovascular patients inTehran who visited medical centers in 1401. The numberof sample members was considered to be 150, which wereselected using available sampling method. Themeasurement tools in this research were CartwrightHoughton and Wells (1997) metacognitive beliefsquestionnaires, Antonsky's psychological coherence(1987) and Beck's depression questionnaires, which hadacceptable validity and reliability. In order to analyze thedata, inferential statistics of Pearson's correlationcoefficient and step-by-step multiple regression wereused using SPSS-23 software.
The results showed that metacognitive beliefshave a significant effect on the depression ofcardiovascular patients; Also, psychological coherencehas a negative and significant effect on depression incardiovascular patients.
Also, the results of statistical analysisindicated that metacognitive beliefs and psychologicalcoherence can predict depression in cardiovascularpatients.
