Abstract:
Critical discourse analysis is an interdisciplinary approach that analyzes statements and texts within the framework of power relations in society and the role of language in establishing and maintaining dominance. In Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis, texts, especially stories, are examined at three levels (description, interpretation, and explanation). In analyzing his critical discourse, Fairclough considers ideology as a tool for creating and maintaining power relations in society and emphasizes four fundamental concepts (power, worldview, language and ideology). This research, with the descriptive-analytical method and the use of library tools, aims to analyze the critical discourse of the story of Prophet Abraham in the Qur'an based on the three-level model of Farklaf (description, interpretation, explanation) and clarify which discourse in this story. It is key and prominent, and which ideological concepts are behind the text of this story and how these concepts have found harmony in the different three-level structures considered by Fairclough? The results indicate that the most prominent discourse in this story is the monotheistic discourse of Hazrat Ibrahim, with argumentative-protest and preaching methods. And the ideological concepts of epistemology (knowledge of God), education and propagation both for the preachers and missionaries and for the general audience of the Qur'an are hidden behind its text. And of course, the speech of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) was formed according to the needs of the audience, and according to the situational context of the text of this story, different ideological concepts can be obtained from it.
