Identifying and analyzing the effects and consequences of population aging in Iran

The issue of aging of the Iranian population, which is emerging for various reasons, including the decline in birth rates, advances in medical science, health, education, and increasing life expectancy, is a new phenomenon. Since this phenomenon creates many changes in all aspects of human society, including a wide range of age structures, values, and standards, and the creation of social organizations, this article is of great importance due to the many challenges of this phenomenon and the adoption of appropriate policies to improve the physical and psychosocial status of the elderly. Therefore, the purpose of the present study is to identify and examine the consequences of aging of the population in the future of Iran. The present study is of an applied type and uses a descriptive-analytical method to examine the dimensions and consequences of aging of the population in Iran. The method of collecting information was through the library and the Internet. The results of the study indicated that negligence and lack of planning in managing the Iranian population will lead the country into an aging population trap in the near future. A phenomenon that will cause great damage to the country in the areas of economy, health, social, political and security.
