Modeling dark sides of the organization based on the theory of social interaction in the higher education system: Strategies and Consequences
The dark side of an organization is the motivational behavior of employees, which has negative consequences for one person in the organization, another group in the organization, or the organization itself;. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to present a model of the dark sides of the organization in the higher education system based on the theory of social interaction.
The type of research is applied and developmental in terms of purpose, descriptive-exploratory in terms of implementation method and qualitative in terms of data type. The sample of participants in the study included 15 scientific experts and experts in the field of higher education management in Mazandaran province who were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected using interview tools; The interviews continued until the theoretical saturation stage was reached, and this saturation was obtained after 12 interviews. 63 concepts of open source interviews were classified into 12 sub-categories and 6 main categories, which were placed in a paradigm model in the form of six main categories, which are:Components of dark side of organization, individual development strategies and organizational level strategies and individual, organizational and social consequences that the model describes in depth and richly the dark sides of the organization in the higher education system based on the theory of social interaction.
Understanding the influential factors, strategies and consequences of the dark sides of the organization in the higher education system using the proposed model can help managers, planners of the higher education system in managing this phenomenon.
