Abstract:

Based on the assumption of diversity of interest and ability among learners, a layered curriculum can meet the challenges of a diverse population of learners. To identify and prioritize the dimension and constituents of such a curriculum, a group of 20 curriculum planning experts was given a specially constructed questionnaire on the characteristics of layered curriculum and then the relative significance/importance of derived dimensions and constituents by the use of Fuzzy Delphi method, was determined using the AHP method. As a result a set of 9 dimensions of design, objective, content, methods, learning tasks, learning environment, learner, teacher, and assessment with 45 constituents were identified where in teacher ranks first in terms significance.
