Comprehensive Study of Elderly's Happiness in Zahedan City

Abstract:
Happiness is one of the most urgent natural and psychological demands of human beings and because of its major impact on the health and development of society, the human’ mind has always been busy about it.Also, successful Aging refers to achieve individual potential and the optimal level of physical ability and social points and through it, the elderly and people enjoying themselves. So, present study was aimed to investigate the state of successful aging in Zahedan city. This is descriptive- survey study. The population of this study were all aged over 60 in Zahedan city that 385 elderly with ages more than 60 were selected by random clustering method. Their happiness condition was examined by Argyle & Lu's (1989) Happiness questionnaire. Kolmogorov–Smirnov tests and Binomial test were used to analyze data. Findings showed that 35% of participants dont have good condition of happiness. Professional System of Health Community can use the results of this study in design and implementation of comprehensive programs to facilitate the promotion of healthy behaviors.
